Partner Program Terms
For funeral homes, cremation providers, retailers, urn manufacturers and associations that take part in RetURN.org. These terms sit alongside our Terms of Service.
Last updated: October 2026
Who You're Dealing With
RetURN.org is operated by Buried in Work Charitable, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (“we” in these terms). We sell the RetURN.org IDs, starter kits and activations described here, and we pay what the program earns you. Being listed as a RetURN.org partner, and taking part at all, is free.
Prices
Every price is shown before you pay and includes shipping. Sales tax is added where it applies. Payment is on return.org through Stripe, which handles your card; we never see it.
- Starter kit: $50. 25 RetURN.org IDs, each with an activation sheet, shipped free. Your partner portal opens when you pay.
- More RetURN.org IDs: $50 for 25, ordered from your partner portal. Labels: $100 for 100.
- A sample RetURN.org ID: $5.
- Activating for a family: $10. From your partner portal you may activate a RetURN.org ID for a family for $10. Charge the family the usual $19.99; the difference is yours. A family activating on its own pays $19.99.
Free RetURN.org IDs for Providers
For every 15 activations that families pay for at $19.99 on RetURN.org IDs you handed out, you earn 25 more RetURN.org IDs, free. Activations you make yourself at $10, and activations with a free code, don't count toward them. Your partner portal shows where you stand.
What Manufacturers Earn
- $2.50 for every RetURN.org ID you made that is activated, however it was paid: a family's $19.99, a provider's $10, or an activation with a free code.
- Paid quarterly. By the 15th of the month after each calendar quarter, we send a check, or give the amount to the Funeral Service Foundation instead, or split it between the two in the share you choose in your partner portal. A share you give up is Buried in Work Charitable’s own gift to the Foundation, not a donation by you: it isn’t income to you and we don’t report it as yours.
- Before a check is sent we need a W-9 and a mailing address. Until we have both, your earnings wait; nothing is lost.
- Demonstration RetURN.org IDs earn nothing.
Refunds, Disputes and Damaged RetURN.org IDs
- Activations aren't refundable. Once a RetURN.org ID is activated and its page is live, the activation has been delivered.
- If an activation is refunded or disputed anyway, it stops counting: for a provider, it comes off the count toward your next free RetURN.org IDs, and a free pack already earned by it is taken back unless it has shipped; for a manufacturer, the $2.50 comes off your next unpaid quarter, and a quarter already paid is never rewritten. A dispute decided in our favor puts it back.
- A damaged RetURN.org ID can be deactivated and replaced. Tell us, and we'll send a replacement; the page carries over and an earlier scan still finds it.
- A kit or order that arrives damaged, or doesn't arrive, is replaced. Tell us.
Your Part
- Keep the activation codes you hold for families confidential, and give each one only to the family its RetURN.org ID is for.
- Keep your organization's details accurate, and keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for the people you invite into your organization's account and for what they do there.
- Use the RetURN.org name, mark and badge as our badge page and printing and engraving guidance describe, and nowhere else without asking.
- We may suspend or close a partner account that breaks these terms or puts families, the site or other partners at risk.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top, and for a significant change we'll email our partners. Taking part after a change means you accept the updated terms.
